The Storyboard

I have chosen the storyboard to start with purely because of all the requests I have had over the last few weeks (also the reason I have started the blog).

What is the storyboard?

From the video below you will see I have 6 videos created and I can play each of them together or one at a time. The storyboard basically allows me manage my video in bigger chunks. So I can group all my kickouts together or all my shots together. This also makes it much easier to manage my files when I go to put these clips on a cd or DVD (we will see this in a later post).
In a lot of cases I prefer to use tagging when I present back to teams or managers but some people like the storyboard.

For now I hope to show you how to create a series of these videos .

As you will see in the video I have presumed a working knowledge of tagging (I will add plenty more posts on tagging over the next couple of weeks), but obviously you can still follow the steps and just import files from your library.

The video will explain most things but for those who like it in words.
  1. Select the events you want to put in the storyboard.
  2. Click Storyboard.
  3. Make sure 'selected events' is checked.
  4. Check clear storyboard - this will get rid of anything you had previously in it.
  5. Check open storyboard - this will 'amazingly' open the storyboard.
  6. You are now in the analyzer and your events appear across the bottom, almost like a powerpoint presentation. In fact thats the best way to think of the storyboard, except instead of still slides you have videos.
  7. It is now really simple to pick up events (left click with the mouse and drag) if you want to change the order the events appear.
  8. If you want to delete an event: right click and hit delete. This will not delete the clip permanently just remove it from the storyboard.
